Yankees.com: Jeter quiet, but Yanks erupt in Game 2
NEW YORK—A.J. Burnett picked up right where CC Sabathia left off—albeit with a little more run support—to lift the Yankees to an 11-1 win in the nightcap of Monday’s Labor Day doubleheader against the Rays.
Nice start by Burnett, albeit against a somewhat depleted Rays lineup.
By sweeping today’s doubleheader while Boston and Los Angeles of Los Angeles lost, the Yankees have lowered their magic number to make the playoffs to 14, to take the division to 16, and for home field advantage to 19. Nice.
