Relentlessly .500
I’m stealing this headline from Fabian in last night’s game chatter, because it’s a perfect description of this year’s Yankees to this point.
Darrell Rasner just didn’t have it last night as Oakland pounded him for eight runs over 3.2 innings on their way to an 8-4 win. Rasner got three runs of support in total over his last three starts despite pitching pretty well, but last night shelling was his fourth loss in a row.
As long as this team stays around .500, they’re a mini winning streak away from being in the thick of contention, so it’s still too early to write them off, but waiting for a winning streak that may or may not come is pretty annoying.
