Moose’s quest for 20 wins is getting to be one of the few reasons to watch this team. Of course, it’ll take five shutouts to do it with this offense behind him. Go Moose.
Comments
Hopefully Moose can avoid giving up a home run to someone with a career slugging of .357. That would be nice.
Not that I’m blaming the loss on Sir Snacks, just that Everett going deep was quite annoying.
Posted this on the last thread, but here’s Littlestein hinting at CC:
“We’re going to win it next year,” he said. “If we need to add a top veteran pitcher, we’ll do that.”
Yes, Hank, very nice job. Why don’t you put up a “Wanted” ad and attach a blank check to it while you’re at it, too.
Well, if CC’s agent tries to use it as leverage Hank’ll just say he was talking about Clemens.
Hah! Too true.
By the way, Phil Hughes update: so far tonight against the PawSox 3.0 IP, 2H, 0R, 0BB, 3K, 28 of 43 pitches for strikes.
At least Boston hasn’t jumped out to a 10-2 lead over Texas yet.
Are we actually going to watch this game?
Damon looks well rested…
Nice start. In fact, as there’s still no one on base, maybe Jeter will get a hit, too.
Yeah, real pitchers’ duel in Beantown.
Moose drives his teammates to awesomeness.
Damon knows how to deal with WOE.
Jeter GIDP coming up…
Oooh this is the guy that Abreu almost sent to have his face rebuilt, right? I wonder whether either or both of them get flasbacks.
If there’s one good thing that will come of this late season debacle, it’s that the checkbook’s a’ comin’ out this offseason.
I think…I think…we should stop sending Abreu. He has lost a (re: 5) step(s)
If only real life worked like that.
Was that a hit and run?
With A-Rod?
If there’s one good thing that will come of this late season debacle, it’s that the checkbook’s a’ comin’ out this offseason.
Yes, because they didn’t spend over a quarter billion dollars on 3 players last offseason or anything.
I hope Moose can hold this lead because it’s not like he’s getting anymore run support tonight.
Naaaaasty.
Molino is teh awesome.
Gardenhire’s whole Mike Redmond has to bat 3rd thing is hilarious.
Why do people continue to try and run on Molino. It´s a very bad play.
He is gunning down almost 50% of the runners
Fabian- He doesn’t know Mauer is not playing
Gameday shows Moose with a few mph off his fastball from his last few starts… just taking a little while to get warmed up?
Not that I care if he this up.
9 pitches that somehow managed to encompass 2 hits, 1K, and 3 outs. Krazyyyyy.
Catcher must bat third. Catcher must bat third. Catcher must bat third.
28- Moose can perform all sorts of voodoo.
Second-baseman must bat second. Secondbaseman must bat second. Secondbaseman must bat second.
Baseclogger does his thing.
Well, that went to crap in a hurry.
Centerfielders must bat first. Centerfielders must bat first. Centerfielders must bat first.
I like how Abraham completely disregards Hank’s point about injuries and brings up Sox as an example. Yeah, the team has played poorly, but losing 4 starting pitchers to injury and/or ineffectiveness, and 2 of your best hitters for the majority of the season cannot be discounted.
This offense has surely mastered the art of hitting into double plays in every way possible
Baseclogger does his thing.
Unfortunately, the rest of the offense does theirs.
Freakin’ Giambi. If Baseclogger hadn’t walked, Cano wouldn’t have hit into a DP.
Hughes 5ip 2h 0r 4k
Someone at Yes had a good time replaying that shot of Damon with his hands in his crotch.
I think if I were a camera operator for Yes I’d laugh a lot.
How is it posssible that Boston scored 10 runs against Texas when the starting pitcher was the very great Feldman
Hughes is supposed to go up to 85 pitches tonight, right? Hopefully he’ll be able to get 7 innings or so.
Crap RISP - time for a hit from the Twins.
Yanks could have hit a sac fly there-NOT!
There either, bebop.
How is it posssible that Boston scored 10 runs against Texas when the starting pitcher was the very great Feldman
The Sox are already hitting Byrd’s stash.
Yanks would have hit ground ball, runner out at home, followed by DP in that sequence.
Hughes 66 pitches thru 5 41 strikes
How is it that the Twins make sac flies look so easy while we seem to fear them like the plague?
Sterling must have just had the most crazy sacflygasm.
Luckily I wasn’t listening.
Sob.
I’m not watching - are those legit sac flies, or are they “Damon is in CF” sac flies?
Once again if Yankees are continually taking bad approaches does Long bear any responsibility? I don’t know. Just asking.
Wow Ortiz hit two home runs in a 10 run first inning for the Red Sox.
I’m not watching - are those legit sac flies, or are they “Damon is in CF” sac flies?
Warning track they weren’t, but I’d say they were legit, even if runing on Ichiro might have been risky.
TVH, see #46.
Oh shit Boston is winning. Wait a minute, it doesn’t matter. Our offense is WOEful and we’re going nowhere
I’m not watching - are those legit sac flies, or are they “Damon is in CF” sac flies?
Too legit to quit.
Besides, we all agreed that Damon has to play center the rest of the way, didn’t we?
On the other hand . . . Betemit.
TVH, see #46.
The Yankees could have really used Byrd’s HGH.
Girardi always expects this team to hit. Huh? 2:15 minute game last night and he liked our approach. Damon needs more days off he’s detracting from our WOE.
I was really hoping to see Moose win 20. Doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. That makes me sad.
Warning track they weren’t, but I’d say they were legit, even if runing on Ichiro might have been risky.
They were legit, but Damon let the first hit of the inning drop in when he slipped on the turf. Melky would have caught it.
Moose deserves to win 20 but offense thinks otherwise.
Its almost besides the point whether we pitch well or not but don’t worry one of these days we’ll score 15 and Arod will hit a 3 run HR to cap the onslaught.
Texas 10, Boston 12
WHOA what happened in the Sox game?
Wow, if the Red Sox lost this one….
Texas really can hit and cannot pitch.
Hughes is done, 5.1 with 3 hits 1 walk 4 Ks and 84 pitches, 50 strikes. If AAA Gameday is to be trusted, the umpire’s zone was tiny. Especially in the 4th and 5th.
And the Red Sox were sending a scrub to the mound to take the place of an injured Wakefield
Boston is still gonna win, but instead it being of the 15-4 variety it’s going to be of the 19-17 variety.
What the hell happened to you, Derek.
Was there ever a game where a team had a 10 0 lead in the first and lost?
Texas really can hit and cannot pitch.
Unless they’re facing the Yankees. Then all their starters are Cy Young candidates.
I mean, I´m looking for things to chear me up.
I call an Arod Homer here.
One of those A-Rod home runs would be nice here.
What the hell happened to you, Derek New York Yankees?
Fixed.
Was there ever a game where a team had a 10 0 lead in the first and lost?
I’m sure Jayson Stark will let us know in a couple of days.
Feldman, eh. WOE is even worse than anybody can prove.
Feldman, Perkins, whoever, whatever….
Worst. 3B Coach. Ever.

Meachem strikes again.
Bobby Meacham kinda sucks at his job. Abreu woulda been safe by a mile.
Ground out to the pitcher to end the inning.
I take it Abreu should have scored on that?
WHOA what happened in the Sox game?
Well, the defense clamped down just in time to hold them to a field goal, so we haven’t squandered our two TD lead. Yet.
Still, the experiment of sending AAA pitching against major league hitting will hopefully be over soon.
Aargh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The throw goes to second and Abreu should have scored.
I love you, Nady.
Dear New York Yankees,
I am beginning to strongly dislike you.
Please cease sucking at your earliest convenience.
Love and kisses,
Your #1 fan, YM
Again…Worst. 3B Coach. Ever.
Nady is pretty frickin good. I am having a hard time coming to a conclusion on what I think about him.
ride or die
Holding at 3nd is particularly bad with two outs in the era of WOE.
Giambi with the blazing speed!
Of course he should have been out. But he wasn’t.
. . . And on that one Giambi would have been out if Redman had handled the throw.
Seriously, I don’t like to say people should lose their jobs, but this Meacham thing is out of control.
Those were really bad decisions.
I’m happy to be proven wrong 5 seconds after I wrote that.
Hilariously, Giambi should have been out. The bad throw saves Meacham.
Bobby Meachem is comically bad at his job.
