Stupid fun

I found this image in a Deadspin thread tonight… created by a genius who calls himself “Signal to Noise.” Enjoy.

Seattle keeps winning. I think they might be legit. After all, the Red Sox have a lot of trouble with them. Now we are having a lot of trouble.

Good one - EG has caused a fair amount of turmoil in his brief visit, and I fear they are going to go back to working Oki like a rented mule. Pap’s innings are way down from last year, but even so they are going to continue babysitting him (witness last night - coming in with a 5 run lead because he doesn’t warm unless he pitches, period). That means that Oki or Gagne will be called upon to close today, with Timlin or Delcarmen setting up. If Oki, that will be three straight days, if Gagne… can I borrow that gas can/match gif? Eh - with crazy Julian starting it may not matter, he is only good for one trip through the lineup.

PS - it’s “UR”, can’t George afford better Photoshoppers?

Way back in the 20th century, Bill James wrote the first essential book about baseball managers. Chris Jaffe has just written the second.
- Rob Neyer, ESPN.com

From now on, whenever I have a question about a manager, Jaffe's book will be the first and last one I reach for.

John Brattain Memorial Fund

The Hardball Times has set up a memorial fund for John Brattain's family. He left behind a wife and two teenage daughters.

Four years ago, I found from personal experience how generous the online community can be to its own in their hour of need. I am now literally begging you to be even more generous than you were to me.
