"Dioner Navarro, centerpiece of the Randy Johnson trade, just assfucked the Red Sox.”
Well, who hasn’t?
“This ump should be sodomized with a hot poker ala Edward II.”
Or at the very least by Dioner Navarro.
But not THE last. Thank you Boston.
Elston Howard, MLB debut 1955.
Pumpsie Green, MLB debut 1959.
@290—Giambi told the truth. Bonds is a blight on the game.
As for the rest, who cares? Its 2008.
Someone should introduce Veras to the concept of the strike zone.
I really like Veras, but I’d have a massive man-crunch on him if he could just THROW FUCKING STRIKES!
Seriously, how was that 1-2 pitch not strike three
er… crush.
One more and we get to see Mo! hurrah!
Who was the last team to sign a gay player? I’m guessing Cincinnatti.
You know what’d be nice here? Lots o’ runs.
Does Mo pitch the ninth in a tie game at home?
Lets hope we don’t find out?
Mariano with the lead! Go Yanks!
hahaha, some Masshole lookig real pissed off at the Trop just gave the finger to the NESN cameras. Orsillo and Remy were just silent as the camera cut away in embarrassment. I love watching the Red Sox loser.
With one fucking run I’ll be happy
Girardi usually uses Mo in a tie at home. There is no reason not to, and the Yankees need this damn game. Mo for two, then if the game is still going try your luck with Farnsworth (ulp).
ESPN/NESN/RSN—What’s the diff?
For all the screaming that just transpired here, I’d have thought Veras has given up a 5-spot at least. Very unnerving for those of us forced to rely on the slow-ass Gameday. Deep breaths, guys
Also, some other Massholes are driving up and down Newbury Street in motorcycles revving their engines real loudly for some reason. What a ridiculous city.
...I think I’d take the everyday MVP caliber player than the potential CY winner...
I very much doubt that the Rangers, even in their wildest dreams, thought they were getting an MVP-caliber player. Hamilton is 27, after all. And I’m pretty sure they didn’t think they were giving up a potential CYA winner.
Besides, when you have a team ERA+ of 84 and an OPS+ of 116, maybe trading pitching for offense isn’t really what you needed to be working on the previous off-season.
Rays win. Thuhuhuhuh Rays win.
Cano ends this gimpfest. The Babe told me.
Then Mo.
was gardners throw in a few innings ago that impressive? sterling and waldman (sterdman) made a huge deal out of it and there wasnt a play
"The Babe told me.”
The Babe appears to have a bit of a blind spot when it comes to Cano...but I hope he’s right.
You go to Mo for as many as 6 outs here. The Rangers bullpen basically gives up a run every other game.
Bonds ain’t signing for the minimum, and horses don’t get AIDS.
The Babe told me.
What does Thurm the cat think?
If Yanks don’t make this year, I’m rooting for the Rays all the way. Even if they do act like dicks sometimes.
Its July. Cano time. Watch.
The Rays, eh?
Getting this 1 run is gonna be pretty hard.
That was a scintillating effort by the offense.
Not Robinson Cano of course. His cousin Seamus.
"Bonds ain’t signing for the minimum, and horses don’t get AIDS.”
Hm. Does this mean Dioner Navarro didn’t actually assfuck the Red Sox either? Because now I’m feeling like I may have misunderstood in an embarrassing way.
Bonds ain’t signing for the minimum,
According to Borris, not only is Bonds willing to sign for the prorated MLB minimum, he’ll donate that to charity.
Even if they do act like dicks sometimes.
Sometimes?
WOE. Whatever....
Didn’t Joba pitch in the futures game last year? It was just last year, right? Damn, that’s impressive.
Sometimes?
Well...less often than the Sockes?
Didn’t Joba pitch in the futures game last year?
Yes
Yanks sign Bonds, this team can die.
*Sox. Whatever, indeed.
SG- Thurm the Katt thinks I should shut the fuck up. As usual, He’s right.
Bad start.
Have the Yankees gotten Kinsler out yet this series?
great.
Indeeed. Hughes and Tabata played in the futures game two years ago.
By the way, Mariano always gives up runs in tie games this year.
Mo in tie games hasn’t been very good this year, has he?
Urrrgh.
Last 2 Mariano outings in tie games: solo hr, solo hr.
Just saying, and going along with the overall mass negativity on the board today.
According to Borris, not only is Bonds willing to sign for the prorated MLB minimum, he’ll donate that to charity.
And this is believable because...?
I’m betting that Jeter hits for Betemit and Cabrera hits for himself.
By the way, no radio YM?
Fuckin’ A
Aargh!
Posada’s hurting the team with his injured arm. And there goes the game.
Tabata nearly decapitated Hughes in that game.
Are you kidding?!?!?! Can we fucking pay some attention to the go ahead run at 2nd! Oh fucking fabulous now were done for. fuck this shit.
Micheal Kay has jinxed this whole fucking game.
Goodbye and goodnight.
good game texas. see you tomorrow.
Aw, crap.
Don’t worry, Melky due up in the ninth.
THAT RIGHT THERE IS A FUCKING EMBARRASSMENT> JUST A FUCKING EMBARRASSMENT
Tabata nearly decapitated Hughes in that game.
I think that was the last time he got a hit ..
Posada needs to throw guys out at 3B. Mariano is not slow to the plate.
Wow, Mo sucks ass in tie games apparently. Just fucking shoot this team dead.
By the way, no radio YM?
I’d rather stick knitting needles in my ears. If I owned knitting needles, that is.
Wasn’t that the last time Hughes pitched?
Posada’s throw was a disgusting embarrassment. ugh, I feel like puking
The best thing about this is the fact that Ponson is pitching tomorrow.
Don’t worry, Melky due up in the ninth.
Pinch hit Jeter, then put… can anyone on our bench play the OF?
This is what it must have been like to watch Mike Piazza behind the plate.
Wasn’t that the last time Hughes pitched?
Touche.
Posada’s throw was a disgusting embarrassment. ugh, I feel like puking
Maybe now people will stop bitching about Molina playing?
This is fucking embarrassing. Po behind the plate is a huge detriment to this team right now.
Move Damon to LF, lose DH. Who cares?
I’m sorry.
//s//
Mariano Rivera
I can’t believe Giambi didn’t drop that.
I really thought this match would be fun.
I also thought Al Gore won in 2000.
I thought the Yankees won in 04.
I also thought the Yankees won in 01.
I’m done trying to think. See yuz for Boston. We are due.
The WOE experience is reminding me that Bonds is still available for $390,000. There are a lot of ifs to this, but if Bonds is still in shape, and if Matsui is going to be on the DL for long enough for Bonds to tune up in Scranton (I vaguely recall that he has the options to start there), I would be inclined to hire him.
Bonds may be a symbol of steroids, and Selig might hate him, but the reality is that he hasn’t done anything that far beyond what others have, and his 2007 (presumably PED-free) stats make him well worth hiring if the team needs a bat—even if just for a month or two until Matsui is healthy.
While I have to admit liking the reduced media circus around the team since A-Rod signed for 10 years, I’d rather the team won more games than generated less bad press. It’s not as if the conspiracy against hiring him deserves the moral high ground (when baseball has yet to make an official finding that he did anything wrong or applied any official punishment).
Jesus fucking christ
Molina, okay. Melky, no.
Move Damon to LF, lose DH. Who cares?
That’s a good idea, as Damon’s spot will come up in the order as DH, so it won’t cycle back to his spot for awhile.
I’d love to know why Mo sucks in tie games. It happens way too often.
Mariano to CF!
What’s sad is that nobody even considers the possibility that the Yankees can still win this game. Because they can’t.
Is Mo’s ERA over 1 now?
Betemit walks, Melky HRs. Yankees win.
it won’t cycle back to his spot for awhile
You making it sound like the game will last past the bottom of the 9th.
Pinch hit Jeter, then put… can anyone on our bench play the OF?
Score two and it won’t matter. Of course if this team could score two in an inning, we wouldn’t be having this discussion at all.
Mo’s ERA is at 0.96.
Yeah, obviously you lose the DH. No doubt about it.
Come on, Yanks!!
Yanks with a baserunner!!
You know what that means.
Is Betemit really THAT slow?
Good start. PLEASE MELK do something kid!
A pulse? Can they pinch-run Gardner? That would be cool.
...if Bonds is still in shape...
I’m actually a huge Barry Bonds fans, PEDs or not, but he hasn’t been in shape since 2004. The guy probably will be able to fall out of bed and hit when he’s sixty, but that’s not the same thing as being in shape.
I honestly would have bunted there.
Holy shit, I cannot believe that they didn’t bunt there for THAT to happen.
That was surprising…
Jesus christ. Wow. Just wow.
Melky = Shit.
WOW this is seriously unbelievable.
Yeah, Melky sure did <>something.
Clueless Joe.
That was not a productive 2 outs.
If Melky isn’t sent back down to the minors like, tomorrow…
what. the. fuck.
This team is PATHETIC.
Pathetic.
WOE.

Try defending Girardi on that one.
If Melky bunts, AG is now standing on 3rd with Jeter up with 2 outs.
this team seriously blows
3+1+1+2 = WOE
I’m glad its over. Sucking like this takes back to...... last May.
Melky is fine to be on the roster, but yeah, the instant Damon can play left, he better be there and Gardner in center (and its not like Gardner has even gotten a hit yet, but he at least looks good up there).
And hell, I was fine with getting Bonds when it looked like the Yankees were gonna lose A-Rod, so you know I’m fine with it now - and the Yanks are losing enough for it to be a relatively easy sell to the media, I think.
I’m going to go clean the kitchen. God, I wish that was a euphemism.
You know, I’m sure that Joe Girardi is a much better leader of men than I, but at some point it’s time to stop trying to show the kid that you have confidence in him and start telling him that he’s not very good and needs to find a nice comfortable seat on the bench.
I’m now going to go watch all 25 seasons of Sex and the City at once. ‘later, all.
Or maybe Girardi is one of those guys who thinks they invented baseball.
Hey—Beer Money is coming on soon!
And some thought it was the Reds pitchers.

I think we can all agree, terrible job by Joe Torre tonight.

Yeah, the bench to Scranton.
By the by, after all the bullshit, the Yanks stand 3 games out of a playoff spot, with only two other teams between them and the number one team.
So as bad as things look (and they look BAD), the pitching has been excellent and when all they need is for their stellar offense to play, well, stellar, I think there is plenty of room for optimism, no matter how awful they have been playing as of late.

Yep, Houston just tied the game after an intentional walk of the tying run.
...the pitching has been excellent and when all they need is for their stellar offense to play, well, stellar, I think there is plenty of room for optimism...
Objectively, I agree. Subjectively, it just feels like a mortal lock that the pitching will go to hell the minute the offense wakes up.

Ah, Jet Li epic “Romeo Must Die” cheering me up right now. Robbed of an Oscar in 2000.
i would trade melky for the shaky mets camera guy right now.
Wow, that was depressing. 3 runs in 2 games against the worst run prevention team in MLB. And during that ninth inning I realized what an absolutely horrible team we were running out there - miserable offensive outfielders, an absolute butcher at SS, a catcher who can’t throw anyone out. Pretty grim.
Very questionable moves by Joe G too - how can Gardner bat second? How come you bunt after a leadoff double in the first ad then not after a leadoff single trailing by one in the ninth? Salty is somehow even worse than Posada at throwing out runners - shouldn’t we have at least tried to steal second with AG?
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
i think he must be like 15 years older than his given age because his decline is such that in two years he will not be fit to bag my groceries.
yankees, you looked WOEnderful tonight.
Oh fuck me. What a fucking piece of shit to come back to. I hate baseball.
Ah, Jet Li epic “Romeo Must Die” cheering me up right now. Robbed of an Oscar in 2000.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahah… hahaha… haha ..*pants* heh… heh… ...
What this offenses problem is other than Melky i do not know. Jeters pretty much sucked but lets look at everybody else. Posadas been hitting well since his return (lets ignore his catching for now). Abreu’s numbers arnt that bad but hes doing a good job pissing me off. Like tonight when he had a runner at 3rd with 1 out today and shat the bed. Cano has sucked this far but of late hes been good of late! With Damon hitting the cover off the ball and the ‘stache rumbling and bumbling, Matsui contending for a batting title (untill he fucking got hurt) and the all powerfull Arod we should be able to score some fucking runs even with cocksuckers like Melk in our lineup. Its not a very scientific or effective way of looking at it but it seems to me that Giambi, Arod, Damon, Cano (the past 2 weeks) Posada should be able to overcome the sucking of Jeter Melky and Gardner even if he does end up sucking.

431. When DMX gets killed, it just cracks me up, because I still have no idea what he was doing in the movie. Ah, the classics.
I would trade everyone on that team for the guy that was traded for a couple bats.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahah… hahaha… haha ..*pants* heh… heh… ...
Hey now, you shouldn’t laugh at a Derek Jeter biopic like that.
god this looks like it was whack
god this looks like it was whack
Eelz...you have no idea.
I’m so angry right now I can hardly see straight. 3 runs in 2 games against the Rangers? Jesus Fucking Christ.
I think Melky might benefit from a little time at SWB.
I don’t know what’s more bizarre: that Yankees have only scored 3 runs in two games against the Rangers, or that they only have given up 5 to the best offense in the league.
I don’t know what’s more bizarre: that Yankees have only scored 3 runs in two games against the Rangers, or that they only have given up 5 to the best offense in the league.
As long as Moose, Pettitte, or Joba start, I have more confidence in the pitching than offense.
Mmmyes. Sir Snack starts tomorrow. That means that either (a) Yankees pitch a shutout; or (b) Rangers win 1-0.
That should say “Yankees pitch a shutout and win 10-0”
Absolutely disgraceful. The pitching puts up a 2.5 era against the best offense in the league and the result is 2 losses.
Melky’s been awful. Jeter and Abreu have been distinctly mediocre. Cano’s been bad, though at least he seems to be snapping out of it.
This is where not having Matsui is really hurting the team. Wouldn’t it be great if there was a good, relatively cheap DH replacement option out there? Boy, that would be cool…

I know what you’re getting at, but I think Jose Canseco is too busy with his books.
I know what you’re getting at, but I think Jose Canseco is too busy with his books.
Yet another gratuitous Madonna reference.
I’ll post this again on a new thread, but I think WOE is killing this team. They’re living down to our expectations. It’s time for a change, for an acronym that the Yanks can aspire to, can, dare I say it?...live up to. They are the Greatest Offense of All TimeS.
Sorry Dave, but Steve Phillips copyrighted that one for the Tigers.
