I’ve got a bad feeling. 6-0 Rangers.

Enough negativity! We play today, we win.

is Damon not well enough to play left yet? Because i sure hope thats the only thing saving Melky from the bench.

And Betemit at short… yikes.

Girardi is relying on Joba to strike out everyone.

Well there are far worse game-plans.

*Comic book movie discussion alert*

I’ve seen at least 25 commercials for The Dark Knight in my last 6 hours of tv watching and I…really don’t see how it won’t easily take the title of best comic book movie ever.

Brett Gardner batting 2nd and Melky 9th. It’s like having 3 leadoff hitters!

Think how happy we would be if Joba and Hughes were kicking ass.

Frikkin comma guy.
Anyway Joba gets the clobba, Millwood no hits us.

Anyone else having problems with MLB.tv?  I mean, problems over and above the normal ones.

aside from not being able to watch it at work, no.

I don’t have nor have i ever seen this MLB.tv but it sounds like it sucks ass. no?

I like it, when it works.  Which is most of the time.  It’s just that it’s so nice that when they do something wrong it really pisses me off.

Joba needs to quit pussyfooting* around and throw some damn strikes. These 20+ pitch innings are killing me.

*pussyfooting is one of the more awesome words in the English language.

I like it, when it works.  Which is most of the time.  It’s just that it’s so nice that when they do something wrong it really pisses me off.

I wholeheartedly agree.

According to Gmaeday it seemed like Joba was having trouble with his fastball.

I see, i retract my mlb.tv put down. 5 bucks says gardners gonna bunt.

Foot looks good.

Well atleast it was a good bunt.

Fuck you Bobby. You deserve what your wife did to you.

I’m already pissed off. How many pitches did he throw that inning like 8? good god.

leadoff double and nothing.  must contain frustration

Jesus fucking christ on the cross. Sac bunt in the FIRST FUCKING INNING

Thurm to Moose. WOE hates all pitchers. Not just you.

Joba: more balls than strikes

What the hell broseph throw STRIKES!

This is a disgrace.

Why is Joba reprising his first start?

So who’s the long reliever right now? Giese?  Is he rested yet?

WHAT THE FUCK!!  i cant take this shit. This teams sucking ASS! AND NOW A DOUBLE. FUCK ME!

pussyfooting can’t hold a candle to lollygagging.  Or my personal favorite, gallivanting.

wow a single nvm but THIS STILL SUCKS.

Joba sucks. The Yankees suck. Baseball is for losers.

Lollygagging sounds like it should be some sort of violent crime involving a rag and a lollipop. Gallivanting is pretty awesome.

i cant believe this. im about to go head butt the sidewalk. GET AHEAD IN ONE FUCKING COUNT FOR CHRIST SAKES.

Yes.  Yes it is.

For those watching on TV, is the strike zone as awful as it seems to be on Gameday?

Hmm beer and the olympic trials looking more and more likely

It’d be nice if Joba would throw his best pitch for strikes.

Lollygagging sounds like it should be some sort of violent crime involving a rag and a lollipop.

Sounds like the kind of thing I’d like to execute on this effin’ excuse for a Yankee team.

wow it looked like Arod missed that tag.

Chamberlain definitely doesn’t have the good stuff tonight.  As many 92s and 93s as 96s and 97s on the fastball, and not much ability to locate it, either.

Comma Guy taunting us. Trade Jeter for Eckstien. Mo for Wagner. A-Rod for Cabrera. Lets shake this malaise.

Now, imagine the joy of following this game, all the while on hold with MLB.tv support.  What a night.  Can I just say that I hate when you’re on hold and the recorded voice breaks in to the muzak to tell you that whoever it is appreciates your buisiness or whatever?  Always makes it seem like you’re getting to a real person for a split second, only to be summarily let down.

Melky made an improbable intelligent baseball play…and the Yankees still suck.  Never thought I’d see the day.

Phantom tag.

Jesus must be on the field because that scoop by Giambi was a miracle.

I think comma “guy” = me tonight. I don’t see my name down there, anyways.

I do, you’re not it

Haha Waldman saying Salty might not have been touched but should be “out on principle”. Does she think of a few things she could say then literally pick the though that is the dumbest one?

Whats the over/under on us getting more than 2 runs tonight?

I have Comma Guy right before you, YM.

I’ll take the over, but only b/c they bring in their worst relievers late in a blow out

Can I just say that I hate when you’re on hold and the recorded voice breaks in to the muzak to tell you that whoever it is appreciates your buisiness or whatever?

I sat on hold for about an hour one time trying to get tech support for my motherboard. That voice is just evil. Plus it was interrupting the strangest hold music I’ve ever experienced. It was some sort of rock/techno fusion. Very strange. Eventually I got hungry and hung up.

I have two comma guys now.  They’re trying to gang up on us.

No, I see 2 comma guys. One of whom is YM.

I have Comma Guy right before you, YM.

Huh.  That’s even stranger, then.  Well, let’s hope Comma Guy = Jesus, and he’s on our side tonight.  Though judging by Joba’s start, maybe not.

Jesus the Jeters catch game ending in Flaherity double was 4 years ago? Good god.

I’m schocked that MLB.tv is working brilliantly for me right now - I’ve even recently figured out how to get the 1.2 feed to work on Vista, so the picture is brilliant too.

The only thing that’s not brilliant right now is this game.

the 1.2 feed is awesome when it works, but half the time it cuts out on me. leading to long strings of cursing.

Does MLB.tv work on Mac?

THE Shiftbeater.

I like the music Posada walks up to the plate too. Its very appropriate for somebody who (wait hold on) WHAT THE FUCK POSADA!

WTF, Posada BUNTING??

2007: Bunty Abreu
2008: Jorge Pobunta ...?

Posada bunting?  WTF?

I’ve found the 1.2 feed is even farther behind the action than the 800k one.  It sucks when I’m feverishly checking this, gameday, and the video feed for the feed to be the farthest behind.

Thats bullshit luck. Fuck this game.

I’m thinking about taking OTF’s advice and starting a discussion about makeup and handbags.  Possibly Sex and the City*.  Who’s with me?

*I never actually watched SATC and would someone please shoot me if I ever do?

So remind me again, an ERA+ of 83 means it should be easier than average to score runs against the Texas pitchers, right?  I’m not getting that wrong, am I?

eh. this sucks. I’m going running.

Good for you Clay. I think ill continue to do nothing productive and watch this sorry ass team.

Wow this is awful.

Betemit the Bitch. Capital B.

Urge to kill rising

I fucking despise Betemit.

i’m going to go watch this shitty game at a bar because i need to yell at a tv in front of people.

Bad hitting loses to bad pitching.

I hope the Rays sweep the Red Sox.

Despise Betemit worse than Posada? At least he swung.  Posada BUNTED, then stood there and watched a pitch right down the middle!

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!

Is this what its like to be a Mets fan?

Posada is an all time Yankee great and Betemit is a journeyman loser, so ye s

Absurd.  Fuck this, I have a project I need to be working on for tomorrow.  See you all in a bit.  Hopefully the Bad News Bears will have been replaced by the actual Yankees by then.

fuck.this.shit.

This is one of the worst pitching performances I have ever seen. HE IS NOWHERE CLOSE WITH ANYTHING!

Guess its time for a weeknight Scotch.
RE-72 Dont do it Lass. I was joking.
I’ll check in around 2200. Maybe miracles will happen.

This sucks. I’m going to go lift.

Even when he strikes someone out he cant do it without throwing seven pitches.

That one was only five…improvement?

He only did that to make a liar out of WJ.

I love how we’re so fired up in the 3rd inning in a 2-0 game.  I guess WOE will do that to ya.

Well, when your starter is over 70 pitches after 2.2 innings, that’s a real bad sign.

Yeah, but we’ve got three leadoff hitters coming up this inning.

You know what’s almost as awesome as 4 BB’s in 3 innings?  Waiting on hold, talking to a rep, having them fix the problem, hanging up, and THEN finding out they didn’t really fix the problem.  Just stellar.

His at-bats are so fucking pointless.

How is Melky still getting regular ABs on the pro level right now?

Way back in the 20th century, Bill James wrote the first essential book about baseball managers. Chris Jaffe has just written the second.

From now on, whenever I have a question about a manager, Jaffe's book will be the first and last one I reach for.

John Brattain Memorial Fund

The Hardball Times has set up a memorial fund for John Brattain's family. He left behind a wife and two teenage daughters.

Four years ago, I found from personal experience how generous the online community can be to its own in their hour of need. I am now literally begging you to be even more generous than you were to me.
