lets kick some ass

He hits one home run and Girardi puts him at cleanup.  Ha.  Chances there’s a game today?

Is the first time he’s ever batted cleanup?

Apparently second time ever.

Jeter has dated more women on Maxim’s top 100 list than batted cleanup?

I like Melky at the top of the lineup, so I sorta approve this.

I don’t approve this weather though.

It really is a impressive list for Jeter.

MLB.com has the game PPD.  Oh well.

I think this means that they don’t need a 5th starter this week now, that could be good.

Yeah, this is actually really nice news for the Yankees. Like Wimpy would say, I’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today, well I’d gladly play this game in the future than deal with it today.

Nicely put, BC.  On July 24 or September 1 when they make up this game the Yankees should have someone else at catcher and at third.

Chris Stewart and Nick Green?

Way back in the 20th century, Bill James wrote the first essential book about baseball managers. Chris Jaffe has just written the second.
- Rob Neyer, ESPN.com

From now on, whenever I have a question about a manager, Jaffe's book will be the first and last one I reach for.

John Brattain Memorial Fund

The Hardball Times has set up a memorial fund for John Brattain's family. He left behind a wife and two teenage daughters.

Four years ago, I found from personal experience how generous the online community can be to its own in their hour of need. I am now literally begging you to be even more generous than you were to me.
