I dont get that move last night…can anyone rationalize it? I know mo and joba were unavailable but why not let viz get another inning or even bring farnsworth in. that was a big game in the sense that it kept a division title chance alive.

Farnsie had a bad neck and Viz was just coming off shoulder and back tightness with Boston lurking.  Once you get past Joba, Mo, Farnsie and Edwar the options are all bad.  Britton?  BB Bruney?  Villone?  Veras?  Ohlendorf?

According to Torre, Matsui “knows how to play the wall” over at Fenway. He said it yesterday in the postgame.

Damon should be the everyday LF but I suspect Torre doesn’t want to hurt Matsui’s pride or as someone said elsewhere maybe Damon just isn’t familiar with the outfield at Fenway

If you are going to give Damon a defensive day off, fenway is a perfect place to do it b/c of it’s lack of space in LF.  Plus, i “feel” like matsui plays the monster well.

I’m not particular excited with the Yankee’s prospect this weekend.  For whatever reason, I feel they have more or less letdown when statement series presented themselves.
